4-H Speech Contest/ Demonstration Contest

Speeches should be 3 to 5 minutes long for junior 4-H members (ages 9-13) and 5 to 7 minutes long for senior 4-H members (agest 14-18). No visual aids are allowed. Speech categories are by age.

Demonstrations are ways to communicate an idea by showing and telling. Youth must use posters and props in order to show how to do or make something. Youth should also have visuals and equipment that helps  show how the topic can be completed. Demonstrations must be between 5 and 15 minutes long. Demonstrations are divided into junior and senior levels and among 13 different categories.
